Do a Lot of Reading. You need to have a good vocabulary and to be familiar with reading paragraphs and stories to do well on these tests. Read as much as you can to improve your skills.
Join a Study Group. Oftentimes, it can be helpful to study with other students who are also preparing for the exam. Studying in groups allows students to share test-taking strategies and practice memorizing rules with one another.
Take the Test Early. Take the test as soon as you can (usually in your first year in high school). If you don't do as well as you wanted to, you'll have lots of time to take it again.
Get a Good Night's Rest. It's important to get a good night's sleep before you take the tests. This way you'll be at your most alert.
Stay Calm. A lot of people don't do well on these tests just because they get nervous and worried about it. If you stay calm you will have a much easier time taking the test. Don't worry, you can almost always retake it.
